Jimmy Johnson – 143

At one point, mentors were also students. That way, they learn through firsthand experience the things they need to impart when they become the leader and teacher. With that said, such was the case for football broadcaster Jimmy Johnson. Before he landed this job, Johnson had been given credit for coaching teams like the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins.

When he was still a player for the University of Arkansas’ Razorbacks team, Johnson had the opportunity to learn all the ins and outs of the sport. He was also given the nickname “Jimmy Jumpup” because he was never down on the ground for long, both during practices and games. Thanks to his experience, Johnson managed to be an effective mentor throughout his career as a coach – he even helped the Dallas Cowboys win two Super Bowls back to back.
